Jupiter EM manager Shaftan to retire

Jupiter's emerging Europe specialist Elena Shaftan is to retire from the group, with her funds handed over to Kathryn Langridge, IFAonline's sister title Investment Week understands.

Shaftan (pictured) has been at the group since 2000, running its £214m Jupiter Emerging European Opportunities fund, and the £18m Jupiter New Europe funds. Langridge, lead manager on its key mandates in the region including its £24m Global Emerging Markets fund, will take over the portfolios from Shaftan, Investment Week understands. Shaftan is leaving to pursue interests outside fund management. Colin Croft, co-manager on both portfolios since the start of 2008, will remain in that role and work alongside Langridge.
