IMA boosts regulatory team as restructure continues

The Investment Management Association (IMA) has created two new regulatory affairs director roles as part of a restructure to help the trade body meet its strategic priorities.

Richard Metcalfe, formerly deputy head of EMEA at the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, will join the IMA in mid-September as director of regulatory affairs (institutional and capital markets). Julie Patterson, currently the IMA's director of authorised funds and tax, will be the director of regulatory affairs (retail and funds). Further to these two appointments, a new risk, compliance and legal directorate is being created, which will be led by Guy Sears, who is currently director, institutional.
