M&G's Watson: jury is out on restricted advice

M&G's director of UK advisory has predicted it could take up to two years to properly gauge demand for restricted propositions among the adviser community.

Andrew Watson, who is also director of partnership sales at the asset manager, said there has not yet been a surge of interest in restricted offerings, despite major platforms ironing out their post-RDR pricing structures.    In recent months, a number of investment platforms, including Skandia and Hargreaves Lansdown, have outlined plans to enhance their restricted advice offerings. Skandia is set to launch its Select fund range, a panel of 23 funds from ten fund houses, this summer, while Hargreaves Lansdown is considering cutting its Wealth 150 list down to as few as 30 funds.
