Alliance Trust sells SIPP book to focus on platform growth

Curtis Banks has bought Alliance Trust Savings full self-invested personal pension (SIPP) book, made up of 6,000 plans worth about £3bn.

The acquisition will be tied up by the end of the year and all affected staff, both in Dundee and London, will be retained. Alliance Trust said while it would continue to operate in the pensions market through its Select SIPP its main focus would be its platform business.
