Countdown to online Approved Persons registration begins

Advisory firms are being encouraged to sign up now to the FSA's Online Notifications and Applications tool to vary authorisation permissions or qualify as an approved person.

As part of plans to sweep away the Firms Online and paper-based application system in September, the FSA is making online applications mandatory for all advisers. Alongside Approved Persons applications, the system also deals with appointed representatives; cancellations; variations of permission; waivers; standing data and passports. From September, usage of ONA will be mandatory and will replace both Firms Online and the old paper-based applications system. Firms must register now in preparation for the change.
