Julius Baer has announced its intention to launch an onshore version of its Northern Africa fund, which will provide exposure to the most developed capital markets and diversified economies in the region.
The offshore fund's biggest holdings are in Egypt with about 35pc, followed by around 30pc invested in Moroccan stocks. It currently has $170m under management, raised since launch on 27 September 2007. The fund is co-managed by Zurich-based emerging market experts Alexander Shalash, head of the emerging market equity team, and Malek Bou-Diab.
