In the UK the FTSE 100 Index has added about a point to 4,857 points this morning, led by Morrison.
The supermarket chain is up 5.75p to 210.50p, along with mining firm Antofagasta, up 25p to 12.06p, after a stock upgrade. Old Mutual meanwhile, has shed 4p to 124p. The firm is selling a 7.2bn rand (£607m) stake in its life insurance and banking business to black South Africans to boost black empowerment. Prudential also declined 7p to 496p, despite reporting an 11% increase in new life and pension sales in the first quarter, boosted by growth in the U.K. and Asia.
