Origo pilots secure e-mail service

Origo is piloting new technology to support an industry standard secure e-mail service, designed to reduce compliance risk.

The standards body for ecommerce in the UK financial services industry says the service allows e-mails and attachments to be digitally signed and encrypted, keeping them safe from prying eyes when in transit. With more sensitive data being circulated electronically, a number of firms have been exploring secure e-mail for some time. They have also been responding to guidelines on reducing data leakage and compliance risks issued by the FSA and the Information Commissioner’s Office.
