The Association of Mortgage Intermediaries (AMI) has published a factsheet for its members giving information on what to expect when the Financial Services Authority (FSA) visits their firm.
Specifically focusing on small firms, the factsheet describes the FSA’s approach to supervision and advises what sort of preparation firms can make prior to the visit. For example, it gives information on how the FSA select firms for visits; how to prepare for a visit; what actually happens on the day; and what firms can expect to gain from the experience. It also provides an insight into the FSA’s supervisory approach and its risk-profiling tool, and includes an outline of the entire visit process from notification right through to feedback on the visit findings.
