Emerging European and Mexican banks are looking attractive relative to the Asian region, which has yet to recover from the 1997 crisis, when economies collapsed. Jonathan Asante, emerging markets fund manager at Framlington says Asian banks have been trying to stay afloat since the crisis and believes they still have some way to go before the issue is resolved.
