The Equity Release Council has revealed it will not replace outgoing director-general Andrea Rozario.
Instead the trade body will be on the search for a Chief Operating Officer [COO] following Rozario's departure in February.
Chairman Nigel Waterson [pictured] confirmed he will be the only outward face of the organisation. He will continue to deal with media enquiries, membership, speaking at events and chairing committees.
Waterson also said he had no likely candidates in mind for the COO role.
He said: "The board are proposing not to recruit another director general and to recruit a COO. I'm hoping we can advertise the post quite soon but I'm not in a rush to fill the post because I want to get absolutely the right person.
"We've grown in a very short space of time very quickly and that's required the board to look again at the organisation and how its best run. With Andrea leaving, it's a golden opportunity to make some changes. I'm looking forward to the right kind of people being considered. I have no preconceptions at all [about who we would like to hire.] I've got a job description and I just need someone who I think will fit that job description."
