Charity Age UK is running a week-long campaign to highlight the benefits pensioners are entitled to in an effort to prevent more pensioners dying of cold during the winter.
Friday 11 February is the culmination of the Spread the Warmth campaign.
Age UK asks supporters to wear an orange ‘bobble', take a photo of it and upload it to Age UK's website to raise awareness of pensioner benefits including pension credit.
Around £16bn in means-tested pensioner benefits goes unclaimed every year.
Nell McAndrew, model and Age UK ambassador, says: "Each time you wear your bobble or go orange in some way you will be remembering the 250 older people that die needlessly every day in winter due to the cold.
"I would urge everyone to get involved on 11 February to make a real difference to vulnerable older people during winter."
