Columbia Threadneedle Investments is delighted the Threadneedle Global Multi-Asset Income Fund has scooped the prestigious award of Best New Multi-Asset Fund in the 2016 Professional Adviser Awards.
The fund, managed by Toby Nangle, was launched in July 2014 and not only has top quartile performance over the year to 31 January 2016, but is ranked #1 out of 135 funds1 in the UK IA Mixed Investment 20-60% Shares sector in the cumulative period since the fund was launched.
The Fund invests actively in Columbia Threadneedle Investments highly rated income strategies range, across equities, fixed income and property, with the aim of growing capital over the long term as well as providing a sustainably high level of income. In short, the focus is on superior risk-adjusted income and growth.
As Global Co-Head of Asset Allocation at Columbia Threadneedle Investments, Toby has significant experience in managing multi asset solutions. Diversification is embedded in his process and he is also able to draw on extensive in-house experience at Columbia Threadneedle Investments. This includes global and regional equity income portfolios as well as skilled teams investing across the fixed income spectrum and an award winning property team distinguished by high-yielding real estate investments.
With that in mind, the Fund currently has 23.7% of its portfolio in the Threadneedle UK Property Trust, 23.5% in Threadneedle Global Equity Income, and 12.7% in the Threadneedle High Yield Bond Fund.
Toby Nangle joined the company in 2012 and is responsible for managing and co-managing a range of multi-asset portfolios, as well as providing strategic and tactical input to the company's asset allocation process.
Before joining the company, Toby worked at Baring Asset Management, initially in the fixed income team and subsequently as Director of the Multi-Asset Group. He holds degrees in History and International Relations from the University of Cambridge.
Toby was recently included as one of 60 people in Financial News' Rising Stars Hall of Fame, a list drawn from around 1,000 former ‘rising stars' in financial services from the last decade whose careers have ‘taken them even higher'2.
