Malcolm McLean says the transfer of TPAS's dispute resolution function to the TPO again raises the question of whether there should be a single pensions regulator

No-one should really be surprised at the news that The Pensions Advisory Service's (TPAS) dispute resolution function is moving to The Pensions Ombudsman (TPO). The move includes the transfer of the TPAS dispute resolution team and volunteer network of over 350 advisers. The transfer will be completed by 1 April. This was the inevitable consequence of the decision to set up a new single financial guidance body. This takes in the part of TPAS that deals with guidance and merges it with the equivalent functions currently provided within the Money Advice Service (MAS) and Pension Wise. ...
