When it comes to benchmarking advisers, investments is not the only area. So here I'm considering what I'd be expecting from my adviser in the round - subject to his agreement that what I want is feasible at the price I'm prepared to pay. 1 I need a plan Does that mean I need a financial planner? To be honest I don't care whether my adviser calls himself a planner or my planner calls himself an adviser. I need a plan and I need advice on the construction and execution of the plan. If I hear any equivocation on such matters I don't think I'd hang around to see how it panned out. ...
