The Rt Hon Alistair Darling MP delivered the UK Budget on 24 March and we could all be forgiven for wondering whether it was worth the effort. Budgets are supposed to set out a government’s plans for taxation and spending, but this one was quite frankly nothing but a cynical piece of electioneering.
