Standard Life Aberdeen (SLA) has appointed Noel Butwell as chief executive officer of the Standard Life Savings business.

Butwell (pictured) will be responsible for SLA's Wrap and Elevate platforms, its 1825 advice arm and its savings business. He will report into SLA vice-chairman Martin Gilbert. Butwell said: "I have worked for SLA for 16 years and throughout this time my primary focus has been on building enduring relationships with financial advisers as we work together to meet the needs of their clients.
