Ascentric ditches weekend re-platforming plans at last minute - again

Advisers turned up to work on Monday morning to find out Ascentric had not moved a chunk of clients from its old platform to its new technology as it said it would do.

The Royal London-owned platform told advisers last week it was shifting the majority of the remaining clients left on the old platform to the new platform over the weekend. Those not to be moved were clients who the process of shifting to a different platform and those with a residual balance of less than £100. On Monday morning (28 January), however, advisers received an email saying Ascentric had postponed the client transfer after the firm "identified some areas which created additional risk around the effectiveness" of the migration.
