MPs receive more than 150 complaints about FOS

The parliamentary Treasury Committee has received more than 150 complaints relating to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) since the beginning of the year, an MP's letter has revealed.

The letter, sent from committee chair Nicky Morgan (pictured) to FOS chief ombudsman and chief executive Caroline Wayman, revealed the number of complaints the MPs have received about the ombudsman and her concerns about the FOS's internal investigation. Morgan said the 150 complaints did not include cases sent to individual committee members from constituents. She added: "As you know, the committee does not intervene in individual cases. However, I will instruct committee staff to send a copy of your [most recent] letter to everyone who has corresponded with us, so they can write to ...
