Former Intrinsic director appointed Fairstone COO

Chartered financial planning firm Fairstone has appointed Adam Smith as the firm's chief operating officer.

Smith, who has almost 20 years' experience in financial services at firms such as Intrinsic, Cofunds and L&G, will also join Fairstone's executive committee. The new COO will oversee Fairstone's client and adviser propositions at the consolidator, as well as the group's investment management. He will also have "overall accountability" for managing the firm's relationships with product providers.
