14,000 sign petition urging government to retain dashboard support

A petition urging the government not to scrap its support for the pensions dashboard has garnered more than 14,000 signatures in two days.

Signatories are concerned that savers will lose track of their pensions if the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) decides to withdraw its input into the project, which is due to be launched next year. It comes after secretary of state for work and pensions Esther McVey was reported to be preparing to "kill off" the government's involvement during the summer recess, with sources saying the dashboard should be provided solely by the private sector.
