"Why are you looking so relaxed - I mean, even more so than usual?" I asked the chairman of the improbably-sized investment company Prandeamus Asset Management when I visited him this week.

"Just look at the calendar," he chuckled. "It's the start of May and our portfolios have been duly liquidated. Let the summer fun begin … "In fact, I'm sure I asked our PR people to drop you a press release on this very subject - did it get lost in the flood of similar releases from our competitors? After all, if there is one certainty in this funny old world, it's that the media loves nothing more than a ‘Sell in May, go away, don't come back till Christmas Day' story." "Christmas Day?"
