Defined benefit white paper delayed to spring

The government's white paper on defined benefit (DB) security and sustainability has been delayed until spring, it has confirmed.

The announcement was made by pensions and financial inclusion minister Guy Opperman in parliament on 11 January during a debate on the beleaguered Plumbing and Mechanical Services (UK) Industry Pension Scheme. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) had originally planned to publish the paper in the winter, announcing the timeline last July.
