Half of protection advisers cite marketing as 'biggest skills gap'

Half of advisers surveyed said that marketing was the biggest skills gap in their business, according to research conducted by COVER in partnership with Aviva.

In addition, 50% of respondents said they would like to invest more time into marketing in order to grow their businesses, suggesting a desire to improve in this area despite the skills gap. Elsewhere in the report, advisers identified ‘digital marketing' as the type of marketing that they most struggle with. The advisers surveyed said that insurers could ‘do much more' to help them with marketing and further business development.
