MPs launch auto-enrolment inquiry

Effects on small firms scrutinised

The Work and Pensions Committee has launched an inquiry into the operation of automatic enrolment.

The committee has called for evidence on the implementation of auto-enrolment, particularly the effects on small and micro employers. Submissions on the following areas are welcomed: • Effectiveness of the auto-enrolment process and lessons learnt so far; • Impact of the policy on smaller employers and how they plan to mitigate any negative effects; • Department for Work and Pensions support for small and micro employers in meeting their auto-enrolment obligations, and any recommendations for improvement; • Suitability of the automatic enrolment earnings threshold and minimum contr...
