Arch cru and carbon credit advisers on FSCS' latest list of defaults

Carbon credit adviser Archer Bramley has been named as one of 28 investment and pensions firms declared in default by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) between May and August.

Archer Bramley director Anthony Clark was found responsible for £650,000 of investors losses relating to six investments in a carbon credit scheme in January 2013. According to claims management company Rebus, which at the time pursued action on behalf of about 500 clients against 90 advisers, Clark was found by Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) to have promoted the Carbon Trading Partnership, an unregulated collective investment scheme, to clients without conducting proper assessments relating to their suitability.
