The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) has directed a complainant to his former adviser after ruling a charge levied on his investment by his platform was "fair and reasonable".
In a decision published in August the FOS ruled a £150.52 charge labelled ‘annual-payment-adviser, which was levied on the man's investment with Transact after he dropped his adviser, was fair and well communicated by the platform. But the ombudsman said it is possible "he could make a claim against his adviser for that omission". The client, named Mr E, turned to the FOS after complaining about the charge to Transact in December 2012.
