The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) has fended off an increasing number of pension complaints in the first quarter of this year as the number of complaints increased but uphold rates dropped.
Quarterly figures published in an ombudsman newsletter on Tuesday showed the service received about 900 pension-related complaints between April and June, compared with 665 in the same period last year, but uphold rates dropped across the board. Overall, complaints to the FOS were down by almost 74% in the period, when compared on a like-for-like basis with last year's first quarter - the FOS accepted 85,200 complaints against 159,000 last year.
