SimplyBiz acquires estate planning and will writing business

Adviser support services group SimplyBiz has acquired estate planning and will writing business APS Legal & Associates and its subsidiaries Simply Legal & Associates and Assured Probate Services.

The deal provides an opportunity for SimplyBiz's partner advisers and firms to "further diversify their skills and improve income streams", SimplyBiz chairman Ken Davy said. APS has provided legal services to SimplyBiz members for years. It follows the group's launch of a dedicated consumer credit centre earlier this month, in response to regulatory change in the field. SimplyBiz's Davy will take on the chairman role on the APS board and has promised better cooperation between the group's adviser clients and APS's estate planning services.
