Henderson UK Opps adopts UCITS III powers

The Henderson UK Opportunities fund has adopted UCITS III powers after shareholder approval was granted at its last EGM on Friday (26 September).

The changes will allow manager Mileen Rash to invest in a wider range of instruments, including using derivatives, with the aim of smoothing returns and managing risk more efficiently in a regulated environment. Rash said: "Allowing wider investment powers to the fund will allow me a larger pool from which to source good investment opportunities, in particular, the ability to make money in both rising and falling markets through the use of derivatives should help reduce the volatility of the fund in more turbulent times."
