IFAs are in a good position to meet the qualifications criteria likely to be laid down by the FSA's Retail Distribution Review, according to research by Unbiased.co.uk for its State of the IFA Nation report.
The organisation's survey among the 17,500 registered individual members of Unbiased.co.uk found they hold some 23,500 qualifications and designations equivalent to FPC (1/2/3) level, with 14,000 holding a component of degree level. However, while 31pc of Unbiased.co.uk members held general qualifications (ie, across more than one product area) and 31pc held pensions qualifications, the report showed just 18pc held saving and investment qualifications and 13pc tax qualifications.
