Santander's Moore outlines growth plan

SANTANDER Asset Management's Richard Moore has outlined how he plans to take advantage of the high inflationary environment in his new role in charge of Abbey UK Growth fund.

Moore, who has managed the £1.2bn fund since 16 July, said he had already taken an overweight position in oils, food and beverage producers and telecoms. He explained: “We want to take advantage of recent inflation as higher prices means higher profits. One area we are keen on is oil where we are overweight in major integrated oil companies like BP and Shell but also some of the smaller exploration and production stocks.
