Santander AM hires five managers to bring funds in-house

SANTANDER Asset Management (SAM) has recruited five former managers from M&G, Old Mutual and Insight Investment to bump up its UK equities team.

The fund manager plans to return £1.5bn of outsourced assets in-house in the wake of the appointments to its UK desk. The hires include Richard Moore, former head of large caps and manager of the £71m UK Select Equity and £29m UK Select Large Cap funds for Old Mutual. He will be joined by Hak Salih, until last year manager of M&G’s £269m Income fund, and Peter McLoughlin, an equity analyst for Insight covering transport, capital goods and UK speciality finance.
