RESEARCH from the Association of Investment Companies (AIC) has indicated that stock market upheavals and the continuing credit crunch are concerning both active investors and the general public.
The AIC's latest Investor Confidence index found that 37pc of active investors believed a recession was the biggest threat to their finances, with 26pc most concerned about a stock market crash. This sentiment was mirrored by the general public, 24pc of which cited a recession as their greatest financial fear in the next six months. This was followed by an interest rate rise, cited by 17pc.
