Barclays Capital launch GAM note

BARCLAYS Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank, has launched a note linked to GAM's flagship fund of hedge funds, GAM Diversity.

Barclays Capaital said the aim was to give investors direct access to GAM’s resources across equity long/short, trading and arbitrage strategies in a note format. The company said the note can also provide portfolio diversification, as the fund has a low correlation to traditional equities and bonds. Alex Robinson, director of Barclays Investors Solution, said this was the sixth time the company had launched a hedge fund linked certificate using the Barclays Bank SIMPLE notes structure.
