F&C has moved to become significantly overweight in India in its global emerging markets portfolios, despite poor performance of that market since the turn of the year.
The firm is currently overweight by 3pc above the benchmark, believing that earnings continue to be strong and valuations are back to attractive levels. Jeff Chowdhry, head of emerging equities, picked out India as one of his team's favourite bets for the next 12 months. He said: "Despite the disappointing performance of the Indian market in recent months, we have remained very positive on the secular outlook for India.
