CHARTWELL Group has forecast rapid growth in multi-manager funds, fuelled by successful multi-asset strategies.
It believes true multi-asset funds should offer a spread across asset classes including cash, equities, bonds, property, structured products and hedge funds. The IFA and broker firm said the 'new wave' of multi-manager funds, which adopt a multi-asset as well as a multi-manager approach, were proving highly successful, especially given the recent market turmoil. However, it added that the growing popularity of multi-asset investing had led to some new funds purporting to be multi-asset without them featuring a truly diversified split across asset classes.
