Credit crisis sparks IFA rush

THE number of consumers requesting independent financial advice in the third quarter was 17pc up on the April-June period, research conducted by Unbiased.co.uk has revealed.

The Advice Drivers report, compiled from data collected from consumer selections made when using Unbiased.co.uk, showed that 33,000 consumers requested independent financial advice on savings and investments between July and September. Unbiased.co.uk has received over half a million requests for details of a local IFA in the past 12 months, most of which were regarding retirement planning and mortgages.
