SPECIAL Situations managers are among the best performers in the UK All Companies sector over five years, research compiled by F&C fund of funds manager Richard Philbin has revealed.
Only 18 funds of the 340 in the sector have consistently featured in the 50th percentile or higher year-on-year between 2001 and 2005, the newly unveiled figures show. Of those, half are run by managers who have been at the helm of their funds for six years or more. They include Fidelity’s Anthony Bolton who has clocked up 27 years and Cavendish’s Paul Mumford who has run the Opportunities fund for 19 years.
