Private investors plump for equities

This is just one finding of the Association of Investment Companies’ (AIC) latest investor confidence index, which suggests widely-publicised concerns over the UK commercial property market have begun to feed through to investors. The index showed confidence in returns from real estate have been gradually declining, with 12pc of active investors polled in February backing the market to outperform equities compared to 16pc last September.
