Widows rebuilds property division

SCOTTISH Widows Investment Partnership is overhauling its £7.8bn property division with the creation of separate UK and international property teams.

The asset management house, which has seen its total funds under management top the £100bn mark in recent months for the first time, is restructuring its operations to support expansion plans. Already, four new investment director positions have been created and further fund manager appointments are on the cards. Fund manager Michael Cunningham is the major departure during the restructure, standing down as manager of the firm’s £406m UK Balanced Property trust.
