Cazenove set to diversify commodity exposure

CAZENOVE has taken a small position in the Schroder Alternative Solutions Agriculture fund in its £64m multi-manager Diversity portfolio.

Simon Wood, co-manager of the portfolio with Mark Harries, said the move was made to diversify some of the fund’s commodity exposure, which had previously only been in the form of hard commodities through the JPM Natural Resources fund. “This fund is all about getting returns from different sources and at the moment there is lots of talk about inflation in food prices so this fund should benefit from that.” He said the new position accounted for 1pc of the fund, with the purchase financed through selling some of JPM Natural Resources, which represents just over 5pc of the Diversity po...
