MPC sees opportunity in credit crunch

THE current "financial stress" offers significant opportunities to investors, and to fundamental contrarian managers in particular, according to Miles Geldard of MPC Investors, the independent asset manager.

He expects to see continued market volatility, as institutions and hedge funds reveal their exposure to structured products. However, Geldard believes the fundamental economic environment has not altered significantly, and thus sees an opportunity to buy into good companies with sound earnings.
