Advisory firm Towergate Financial has appointed former John Charcol chairman Ian Darby as its new chief executive.
Darby, who has been a non-executive director at Sesame since 2006, and also chairman of Home Funding, will take up his new role on 31 October. Darby spent sixteen years at mortgage broker John Charcol, from 1984 to 2000. Following the buyout from Bradford & Bingley in 2004, backed by Advantage Capital, he returned to become chairman of the independent group between 2005 and 2007.
