NEPTUNE and New Star fund managers have reassured investors the eurozone economy should continue to be stable in 2007, despite this summer's volatility.
Rob Burnett, who manages the £64.8m Neptune European Opportunities fund, and Richard Pease, manager of the £980.7m New Star European Growth fund, made the comments as part of their outlook for next year. Pease began by reviewing 2006 to date explaining that the strong gains for European equities masked a volatile summer when global equities came under pressure. Pease said: “While the FTSE Europe excluding UK Total Return Index actually dipped below the 2006 opening level for a short time in June, the New Star European Growth fund remained in positive territory.” Burnett agreed th...
