F&C appoints director of Japanese equities

F&C has hired former Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) fund manager Stefan Bain as director of Japanese equities.

Bain was part of the team running around £500m of Japanese equities for retail and pension funds at RLAM where he worked for six years. Now, having joined F&C’s Pacific equities desk, he will focus on benchmark plus institutional portfolios and contribute to stock selection on a range of the fund house’s high alpha products. Bain’s career in investment began at Barclays Stockbrokers where he managed private client funds.
