Vijay Tohani is to leave First State Investments at the end of July, following eight years with the company.
A key member of the 19-strong Asia Pacific-Global Emerging Markets team and manager of both the onshore and offshore versions of the First State Indian Subcontinent fund, Tohani has planned his departure in conjunction with the group. His portfolio of responsibilities for the Indian pooled funds will be distributed amongst the AP-GEM investment team. With immediate effect, former co-manager David Gait has assumed the role of manager of the Indian portfolios, with Angus Tulloch as co-manager.
