Angus Duncan, director and head of Distribution for Smith & Williamson Investment Management, admits he has been "very, very stupid" - at 2am on New Year's Day he agreed to take part in a long walk for charity, this July.
"To my horror," he adds, "it turns out that a 'long walk' means 100km in 24 hours, starting north of Petersfield and ending near Brighton tramping along the South Downs Way - aptly named the Trailwalker 2008 Challenge. But signed up as he now is, Angus and three friends, hedge fund manager Alan Livsey and management consultants Kevin Alcock and Phillip Bergqvist, dubbed the Amesbury Amblers, will be setting out on 19th July starting at the Queen Elizabeth II Park and ending at Brighton Racecourse on 20th July, a total distance of 100km/62m.
