AEGON Asset Management is to change the name of the AEGON Global Bond fund to the AEGON Strategic Bond fund.
The group says it has decided to take this step after the IMA's review of fixed income sectors last September, following which the Global Bond switched sectors to the IMA £ Strategic Bond Sector from the IMA Global Bond Sector. This switch took place because the AEGON Global Bond is predominantly hedged back to UK Sterling denomination and the Strategic Bond Sector better reflects the fund's investment objectives. The name change, which does not require shareholder approval, is due to take effect from 29 June 2009.
