Green demand invites opportunity

INCREASING demand for renewable energy is creating an abundance of opportunities for investors who can exploit the lucrative opportunities being created by new technology firms.

That is according to Merrill Lynch new energy portfolio managers Poppy Allonby and Robin Batchelor who also think governments which avoid reducing emissions are putting economies at risk. Factors such as raising gas and oil prices, are also bringing new energy technology into the mainstream. It means investors can tap into the rapid growth expected from companies positioned to satisfy demand for alternative energies.
